The Mystique Of New York’s Lower East Side Tenement Museum

The Lower East Side Tenement Museum in New York is one of the most well-loved historical spots in New York, and for good reason. It is both a museum and a national park, and has been a for non-New Yorkers to learn more about the history of the iconic city.

The area used to be home to over 7,000 residents from 20 countries from 1863 to 1935, and the building itself was a shelter for Jews who lived in cramped spaces.

Visitors and guests can join a number of tours, which take them back in time so they too might see and experience how people of the tenement lived back in the day. There are costumed actors posing as immigrants from the era.

It is quite easy to see why tourists have taken such a liking to the museum. It is both well-preserved and maintained. Even the food that is served in the museum has been made to look and taste like the meals prepared in the decades of immigrant residency.

Guests can also visit the Jarmulowsky Bank, the bank wherein immigrants deposited and lost all their money.

The fully-interactive museum is as historically significant as any place you will ever see in the Big Apple, and a testament to the hardships and resiliency of the Jewish community in the 20th century.

Organizing Parties: Diy Vs. Getting a Planner

Parties are always fun, and some people live for the planning of it. However, not all parties are created equal. Some parties are more stressful to plan than others. This is why some people also choose to hire organizers to do the planning for them.

Here are two guide questions to help you determine if you need help planning a party.

What’s the size of the party and where are you holding it?

Parties at home are usually planned and organized by the host. Intimate guests can be invited via text message or email. Food can be ordered or cooked, or you could even suggest a potluck format. People can have fun as well as run the party, go out for beer runs, or even clean up the place when done at home. Home parties are easier to maintain with everyone still clinging on to the party spirit.

Bigger parties though, held at events venues, may require a lot more time to prepare. Experienced organizers are the best route for this since they know how to keep all the bases covered. Also, experienced organizers have all the right connections to suppliers of food, drinks, entertain, etc., that you in all probability may not. And experienced party planners know where to get manpower for all the needs of a bigger party.

Pretty as a picture: New York’s loveliest spots

New York is truly the greatest city in the world. It is a place where people from all over the world come together for all sorts of reasons. It is a place with a history that’s both glorious and tragic. It is a place with incomparable sights and sounds.

Speaking of sights, let’s take a gander at some of the loveliest places in the Big Apple.

Empire State Building

Is any other building in New York more iconic than the Empire State Building? The observation deck of the Empire State Building allows a 360-degree view, which is outstanding, and for some, a bit overwhelming. This is probably the most popular building in all of New York, having been featured in movies throughout the years.

The Rock

A little less ominous than Alcatraz, NY’s rock is 30 Rockefeller Plaza. While the building itself is an architectural marvel, it’s the observation deck that deserves the applause. The sunsets from the deck are to die for.

Brooklyn Bridge

We had to include a bridge. And for our money, the Brooklyn Bridge is the bridge to visit if it’s your first time in New York. The walk from Brooklyn to Manhattan alone is enough to leave you awestruck. Plus, it’s an entirely different experience, walking through the bridge at different times of the day.
